Thomas (Tommy) decided to become an engineer while cleaning a grease trap at the Wendy’s as a teenager in Knoxville. Since then he travelled to Atlanta to conquer the most rigorous curricula around and wound up also learning business skills through his experiences as a leader of Sigma Nu Fraternity and early on in his career. It was at a growing small business where he developed his skills in HVAC, plumbing, and fuel storage design.
Tommy returned to Knoxville in the Summer of 2019 as a licensed engineer on a mission to bring quality engineering to East Tennessee at an Atlanta pace. As the leader of Knoxville operations, Thomas takes on multiple roles, including project management and ensuring mechanical systems meet client expectations.
He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is a registered PE in Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. His deep understanding of mechanical systems and leadership in the field have made him a key player in Proficient Engineering’s growth in Knoxville. His notable projects include Foothills Church in Maryville, Maloney Road in Knoxville, and the K2 Volleyball Complex in Knoxville
